Saw Mill Technology Center

Saw Mill Technology Center is a proposed data center campus development being thoughtfully planned and designed in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, Pennsylvania.

The project is intended to occupy a portion of private property located west of the Borough of Jim Thorpe near the intersection of Maury Road and P.A. 903. The former sawmill site that once powered the local lumber economy could again serve as critical infrastructure—this time supporting the digital economy.

We believe that open communication and transparency are essential, especially early in the process. We intend for this website is to provide clear, factual information about the project, address common community questions, and offer a direct way to contact the project development team.

This website will be updated as the project advances.

Project Overview

Saw Mill Technology Center is a proposed data center site designed to support essential digital services that local and state residents and businesses rely on every day—such as healthcare systems, emergency services, communications networks, cloud computing, and secure data storage.

Named after the innovative saw mills that powered the region's economy through the 1800's, Saw Mill Technology Center will feature enclosed facilities designed with advanced sound attenuation, environmental controls, and safety systems.

Status

Saw Mill Technology Center is currently in the early feasibility, planning, and evaluation phase. The landowners are currently acting as the preliminary developers with experienced development consultants and partners. The future goal is to partner with an established data center company to finalize site planning and design, submit for the project permits, and build and operate Saw Mill Technology Center.

As of today, no final plans have been approved, and no formal design or construction has occurred. Updates will be provided as the development process evolves.

Community input and regulatory review will inform whether, when—and how—the project proceeds.
